THE GREEN DECOILER
Innovative SERVOREEL® decoiler allows short press feeding lines together with high performances level. It is ideal for HSLA steels processing.
Line performances :
- For coils up to 25 tons, 2000 mm wide and 2000 mm outer diameter.
- Max gauge : 8 mm.
- Max pitch at 30 Spm : 150 mm with 90° feeding angle and 700 mm with 270°.
Advantages of the design :
The decoiler coil braking system is no longer limiting the strip feeding acceleration and speed.
With SERVOREEL® the coil is now simply connected to the feeding unit by a virtual link, which provides a perfectly synchronized coil motion together with the feeding equipment.
SERVOREEL® offers the same performances as a “rearloop short feeding line”, with a shorter length (2.5 m less) and with a lower cost.
SERVOREEL® is fitted with a high performance drive unit which generates a controlled pulling force to the strip, thus allowing its perfect synchronisation with the straightener-feeder motion. The pulling force varies with material specification. It is generated by a brushless motor providing up to 10.000 N.m. torque to the mandrel.
Critical coil inertia factor is computed in real time thanks to the coil material data available on the N.C. feeder production list and to an accurate measurement of the actual coil outside diameter.
A dedicated software manages the mandrel hydraulic expansion and shifts the whole line in safety mode in case of trouble.

Dimeco’s SERVOREEL®is environment friendly. The energy grasped in the coil braking phase is reinjected into the plant power network, leading to significant energy cost savings.
